Free Monthly Guided Bird Hike
July 6, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am
An event every month that begins at 8:00 am on day First of the month, repeating indefinitely
All ages and levels of birders are welcome and should meet in the parking lot before 8 AM. Binoculars and weather-appropriate clothing and footwear are recommended. Members of the Coastal Prairie Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists lead the hikes. Participation is open to the public. Seabourne Creek Nature Park is on Hwy 36 South across from the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds and next to the Rosenberg Civic Center. Turn in at the Texas Parks & Wildlife brown sign. This sign recognizes Seabourne Nature Park as earning a place on the Texas Coastal Birding Trail. More than 200 species of birds have been recorded at our park. On our November hike, we added a new species to the park list, a least grebe, not previously recorded at Seabourne. Bob and Carol Schwartz organize the hikes which are usually also led by recognized birding expert, Mark Scheuerman, E-Bird compiler for this area of Texas. The Texas Master Naturalists program is sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
