Juneteenth is here. We have several activities that embrace the spirit of Juneteenth, including book readings celebrating diversity, and special performances. Also, don’t miss an appearance by Black Panther.

Harriet Tubman

2:00pm, Auditorium

Listen and learn about the life and leadership of Harriet Tubman in this interactive dramatization of “Git On Board! The Life of Harriet Tubman” presented by Young Audiences of Houston.

Joy of Djembe Drumming

3:00 pm & 4:00 pm, Auditorium

(each performance is approx. 20 min)

Learn about different drums and how to create music with this interactive performance to celebrate Juneteenth.

Black Panther

10am – 4pm, Alcove

Come take a picture with Black Panther!

Storytime and Book Giveaway*

12pm and 1pm, Auditorium, *books while supplies last

Listen to author Jatrean Sanders, Esq read her book, Today Was Not The Same, to spark meaningful conversations about diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion.
