Who doesn’t LOVE Kid ‘N Play! We love the clean, happy atmosphere and the super sweet and helpful staff! We were so excited to chat with #momboss Lucrecia Davis and find out how she manages a full time job and kids!
How many children do you have and what are their ages? I have 2 children, Christian, my 13 year-old son and Sophia, my 7 year-old daughter.
How long have you lived in Pearland and what made you decide to live here? We’ve been in Pearland 8 years. We wanted to raise our family in a safe and growing suburban community but that was still close to the city so that we could enjoy the benefits of both.
What’s your favorite family activity in Pearland? Spending time with our neighbors and friends around the community.
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in Pearland? I enjoy shopping at local boutiques and eating sushi at Sakura.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you? When I was young I wanted to run a homeless shelter. I often volunteered at shelters in Massachusetts where I grew up and collected items that we would take during annual visits to see family in Honduras. To this day, I am active in philanthropy and send several boxes a year to Honduras with clothes, household goods and toiletries which are distributed to underprivileged families.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood? My supportive husband, Paul. We are partners in life and in parenting. We step in where the other leaves off to allow us both to balance career and family. Also, my mother, who instilled in me the importance of a strong foundation and education which I share with my kids.
Tell us about Kid ‘N Play and your full time job. Yes, my husband and I own Kid ‘N Play Indoor Play Center in Pearland. We achieved our goal of owning our own business and seeing our vision come to life. I am also a Senior Attorney with a large corporate immigration firm where I support multinational corporations with their global immigration needs.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now? The community has supported Kid ‘N Play since before we opened. We saw a void in this area in Pearland and from conception received positive feedback and tremendous community support to make our vision come to life and succeed. Owning a business is not easy and since we are not a franchise, but a self-standing business concept, it is critical to have the backing of our community to be successful. I appreciate the support we have seen not only from fellow Pearland families, but those from surrounding communities also.
