How many children do you have and what are their ages?
Two Children, Sailor just turned 5 and Sloan is 3 ½.
How long have you lived in Pearland and what made you decide to live here?
Our family moved to Pearland the beginning of 2015. We moved here for our daughter, Sailor to attend “The Rise School of Houston”. The school is for children ages six months to six years with and without disabilities in an integrated environment. We found out very early in our pregnancy that our daughter Sailor has Down Syndrome. Once we processed the amazing news, my husband began to search all the resources available for Sailor. We are originally from Ohio but had lived overseas for many years. We knew after lots of research and my husband flying into Houston to visit the school, Houston would be our home. Being from a small town, I wanted to find an area that gave me that same type of feeling. Pearland became the best choice!
What’s your favorite family activity in Pearland?
Just one of many wonderful things about Pearland, we live in a neighborhood that has beautiful parks and swimming. My girls are water babies.
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in Pearland?
Our family spot is BJ’s, and date night is either Fish City or TMX. A great place to shop in Pearland for cute little gifts or a special one of a kind pieces is Urban Eve.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
That I have an identical twin, Stacy.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
There are have been so many people who have touched our lives throughout this journey. My husband has no doubt been my rock.

Two years ago, I was blessed to start my own business, Splendid Spaces. I provide individualized solutions and systems to tackle clutter and create functionally designed spaces. It has not only allowed me to do something I love and help others; it has given me the flexibility to be there for my girls. How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I have met so many wonderful women since moving to Pearland and starting my business. Not only the friends who have supported me and shared my business with others, but my clients who have then become my friends. All I wanted was to do something I love to help make life just a little simpler for people. This community has supported me and shared my dream with others.
