Can you tell us a little about yourself and your family? Hi, I’m Dhara Mistry, a proud South Asian American working mom turned mompreneur and fierce infertility warrior! I’m a boy mom to the sweetest little dudes I call My Tiny Men, and I’ve been happily married to my amazing husband for 12 years. My world is full of love, laughter, and a whole lot of boys—including our adorable dog! In our home, I’m definitely the Queen of the Castle, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I recently quit my 9-5 Executive Job to turn my side hustle to my main hustle of Executive Leadership & Life Coaching (Coaching with Dhara). I love helping women “love the work they do and live a life they love!”
What inspired you to become involved in sharing your social media content for South Houston Moms? My social media journey kicked off in 2019, right after I had my second son. I realized there weren’t many moms like me—balancing IVF, two boys, and a full-time job—sharing their stories. So, I made it my mission to put it all out there, showing the highs and lows of motherhood, because I knew I wasn’t alone. I wanted to build a space where moms could feel seen, heard, and less alone. And that’s how sharing my content with South Houston Moms became a great fit—because motherhood is a wild ride, but it’s better when we’re in it together!
What are your favorite things about our local community? What’s not to love? The sense of community and, most importantly, the amazing knowledge sharing! Moms who’ve already done the legwork—whether it’s finding the best activities, trying out new restaurants, or navigating the ups and downs of motherhood—are so generous with their advice. It’s like having an army of super-moms sharing their wisdom, and it’s truly incredible!
How do you think your perspective as a mom enriches the content you create? I’m all about keeping it real—I’m blunt, direct, and not here to sugarcoat anything. My content isn’t just a highlight reel or picture-perfect snapshots; it’s the raw, unfiltered reality of motherhood. Some days are smooth and beautiful, and others are chaotic and messy. But I’m here to share it all—the good, the bad, and the totally tough. Because every day in motherhood is its own kind of beautiful, and it’s time we celebrate the real moments, not just the perfect ones!
What kind of activities or events do you enjoy sharing with other moms? As a true boy mom, I’m all about sharing our love for sports and all things active! Whether it’s catching a game or diving into outdoor adventures, we’re always on the move. And, of course, being big-time foodies (yes, even our boys!), we’re constantly on the hunt for delicious eats to share with everyone!
What do you hope other moms will gain from the content you contribute? My hope is that moms out there feel less alone and truly seen through my content. I’m all about keeping it real, and I especially want to make sure boy moms get the spotlight they deserve!
Have you discovered any hidden gems or unique spots in our area that you’d like to share? Honestly, the West Pearland Library trail was such a hidden gem for me! I love getting outdoors with my tiny men, and I’ve really missed those Pacific Northwest vibes of hikes and nature, so stumbling upon a local spot like this was such a pleasant surprise!
How has being a mom influenced your approach to exploring and enjoying our community? I’m always on the hunt for fun, kid-friendly spots that are clean and safe for my tiny men. I love sharing family experiences and supporting the local community—especially small businesses—so I’m always excited to seek out and share the best local gems!
Lastly, what advice would you give to other moms looking to make the most out of living in our area? I’d say—get out there and explore! Try a new spot, even if it’s small or just starting out. You never know what kind of joy or connections you’ll find. Pearland has such a humble, welcoming vibe, and I’m proud to call this awesome little suburb home!
