There is nothing like relieving the stressors of daily life like “Punching it Out”! A phrase you’ll often hear inside the doors of 9Round Fitness located off Hwy 288 in the Sam’s Club shopping center.
9Round is a circuit style workout and unlike most gyms, there are NO CLASS TIMES! You just show up and go through 9 pre-selected workout stations for three minutes each. Before you know it, you’ve completed a 30 minute workout and can go about the rest of your day.
There is So Much to Love
The emphasis at 9Round is on fun, fitness, sweating and smiling. Onsite trainers work hard to get to know members and create community while simultaneously helping you through nine rounds of kickboxing drills, abs and strength training.
Members are of all ages and fitness levels! As soon as you walk through the door a trainer will greet you and lead you through your three minute stations.

An Ideal Place for Moms
The life of a mom can be busy and even frustrating at times! The ability to walk in whenever you choose and take your stress out with a workout is invaluable. “Your whole mood will have changed by the time you’re done. Stronger, both mentally and physically in 30 minutes!” explains Owner/Operator Tamra Schwartz.

9Round is a no judgment zone and focuses on personal growth. Kickboxing is a great way to get into shape and each three minute round is taken at your own pace. Schwartz expresses that, “The stronger you get, the harder you will find yourself punching and kicking the bags. Along the way, trainers will help you take things at your own pace while gently challenging you as you go. For some members, starting out may look like finishing only four rounds then staying a little longer each time they come.”
These Joints Though!
The trainers at 9Round encourage a safe environment by ensuring you get a proper warm up along with proper technique demonstration to prevent injuries. Like almost all exercises, cardio kickboxing can be tough on the joints if not careful. Schwartz emphasizes the importance of going at your own pace, focusing on form over speed or power.
Additionally, the circuit training is designed to build strength and flexibility.
What’s included in a membership?
In addition to full access during business hours, each membership comes with a PULSE heart rate monitor. The monitor tracks your heart rate during your workout and displays on the screens in the gym. This is a great way to make sure your intensity is just right for results. The data from each workout is then sent to you so you can track your progress. Seeing your calorie burn and time spent in the recommended green and yellow zone is very motivating!
Each membership also comes with your own pair of gloves and wraps. It is recommended to use disinfecting wipes inside and out, and to leave them open to air out after each use to keep them fresh.
About Owner/Operator: Tamra Schwartz
Tamra is the owner/operator of the 9Round Fitness location off south hwy 288. She previously lived in Rosenberg for 21 years working as an educator in the Lamar school district, however now she and her family are located in Pearland.
She is a mom of two boys and step-mom of three children ages 8 to 25. As a family, they love to watch movies or have lunches on a patio where the kids can play, like at Sam’s Boat. The kiddos are super active and love to play football and basketball, so local parks are a great place for them to land.
Knee deep in mom life, raising kiddos and managing busy schedules around sports, school and homework, she still manages to run a business and punch it out at 9Round.
