SPLASH-tastic Fun: Our Favorite Local Splash Pads for the Kids - South Houston Moms

With the warmer weather upon us, why not beat the heat by visiting one of our top splash pads in the area? Splash pads are especially great because they’re safe and shallow, perfect for little ones who are still getting used to the water. And Just a quick tip—most splash pads don’t have nearby restrooms, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead and bring a portable potty – #lifesaver! So, grab your swimsuits, snacks, sunscreen, and water bottles, and make it a great day!

Travis Park

All aboard for a splashing good time at the train-themed Splash Pad! With plenty of parking, a spacious pavilion, and picnic areas complete with tables, it’s the perfect spot for a day out with the kids. You’ll find everything you need, including restrooms and water stations to keep everyone comfortable and hydrated. Best of all, the Splash Pad is free to enjoy from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, April through Labor Day. Just remember, it’s closed on Wednesdays for maintenance, so plan accordingly!

Ridgeview Park

Ridgeview Park’s Splash Pad is the place to be for the coolest family outing. As you enter the park’s lush green surroundings, imagine the excitement when you and your kids discover the Splash Pad—a water wonderland with fountains and aquatic fun. It’s perfect for toddlers and older kids alike, and with nearby restrooms and drinking fountains, everything you need is right there. Trust me, as a mom who loves local activities, this is a must-visit. Parking is limited.

Stevenson Park Splash Pad

Snuggled behind the community pool and sand volleyball courts you’ll find a charming splash pad suited for all ages. Water features include a froggy semi-circle that sprays water, water spouts and over-head buckets. There is a covered seating area with benches should you want to picnic, along with a few uncovered. A small, air conditioned family restroom with a changing table is available for use as well. Make sure to squeeze in some time to visit the Fairy Trail while you’re there!

Centennial Park Splash Pad

3219 McLean Road

Pearland, TX 77581

Hours: 7am – Sunset, Daily

OPEN until October 1

 

This exciting splash pad sits over the bridge from the play ground and has it’s own separate parking lot. If you’re not careful, you’ll miss the entrance, but the lot sits south of the main park entry way. Water features include an exciting flower fountain, over-head buckets, semi circle sprayers and many water spouts. There are a few covered seating areas, but it would be a good idea to bring a lawn chair or two if you plan to spend a while there cooling off.

Silverlake Community Park Splash Pad

2715 Southwyck Pkwy

Hours: 10:00am – 8pm, Daily

 

Upon arrival and between two extra large and well maintained playgrounds, you’ll find a  large and exciting splash pad the kids are sure to love. Water features include water spraying seahorses, water spouts and over-head buckets that spill over as they fill with water. There are several covered picnic tables and plenty parking.

Riverpark Splash Pad

Hours: Sunrise to Sunset, Closed on Tuesdays until noon

OPEN until October 15

 

Nestled behind the impressive playground and gated community pool is where you’ll find this splash pad. Water features include rainbow style water spouts and a lot of splashing. Waterfront benches with a beautiful lake view are nearby and uncovered benches are available. No restrooms.

Sawmill Lake Club Sprayground

This lakeside splash pad sits next to an impressive multi-level playground with a giant yellow tube slide! Though the playground is better suited for older children (and very brave little ones), the partially shaded splash pad is unique in and of itself and will provide hours of water play! The FarmHouse at Harvest Green Splash Pad

*CLOSED* Every kiddo loves a good run through water spouts in the summer! This splash pad is in a gorgeous area and surrounded by turf, picnic tables and a pretty fun looking play ground. Kitty Hollow Park

Located Between Pavilion B and C

 

As you enter Kitty Hollow Park you’ll want to keep your eyes to the left, because between pavilion B and C you’ll find a cute, small-sized splash pad. Pack a lunch and sit under one of the many shaded pavilions in the area. Pavilions are also available to rent!

 

Mark McGrath Park

Hours: 8am – 10pm

OPEN until October 17

 

To activate splash pad, rub foot over the black circle on the splash pad and it will start automatically. This gem of a park has a really nice splash pad that lights up after dark in case you stay late into the evening. While you’re there, you can sit at the picnic tables under the trees for a snack, fish or walk the trails! You can even pack some oats, rice, chopped lettuce or sliced grapes to feed the birds. Bathrooms are available, no playground.

 

Constellation Field Splash Pad

Available until the end of the Sugar Land Space Cowboys Season

 

If you’re headed to a game to cheer on our very own Sugar Land Skeeters, pack swim suits and towels for the kids. Available to ticket holders only, this splash pad is part of the kid zone and is the perfect way to cool off and keep the kids busy during a game. Water features include water spouts, water spraying semi circles and over-head buckets. From time to time, they’ll bring out the foam machine which adds an extra layer of fun!
